Print-Ready PDF Book

If you want total control of the design and formatting of your book and you have experience in book design, this may be the choice for you.

You’ll need to be able to provide already-formatted, ready-to-print files — book and cover PDFs to exact trim specifications for the trim size you choose. And you’ll need to be confident that your text is completely clean and correct — no proofreading or editing is included in the Print-Ready PDF option.

This option is appropriate for authors who already know how to format their book. This is not a good place to learn as you go. Again, we recommend that only authors with print layout and graphic design experience choose this option.

Both the cover PDF and the book PDF will be checked against the specifications for the trim size. If your file does not meet our specs, we will let you know by email what needs to be corrected. You’ll be able to upload revised files one time only.

Because this package is priced for authors who know how to prepare press-ready books, we will perform the pre-press check only two times — your initial files and your revised upload. If your files still do not meet the specs, and you wish to resubmit, you may either upgrade to the standard manuscript submission, or pay for a new Print-Ready PDF Book submission. Your submission will go no further until it meets the conditions of the submission guidelines. Sign-up fees are non-refundable.

Add a cover

Most authors who chose PDF book submission will also want to create their own covers. After all, doing it yourself for complete control is what it’s all about. For the cover creation guidelines, download the Author Guide [at right] or see the cover specs page online.

Or you can use our Add a cover option. Choose from our cover designs: nine basic designs, plus lots of background and color choices. We will customize the cover template you choose with your title, author name and back cover text. You can add your own cover graphic and author photo if you wish. We even select a typeface to complement your book.

This option is available only for Print-Ready PDF Book submissions.
