Paper and printing

Our books are printed on 60-pound opaque acid-free white paper at 84 brightness. Printing is black only, unless you upgrade to a full-color book.

Covers are 10 point coated-one-side stock. Covers are printed in color, on outside only and include gloss UV coating for high-quality appearance and durability.

Standard trade paper binding

Perfect-binding is our standard method. The most commonly used binding for paperback books, this adhesive binding is versatile, secure and long-lasting. Its professional appearance is excellent for books, catalogs, manuals and corporate reports.

Custom binding options for soft-cover books

Your trade paperback book can also be bound with:

Plastic comb — great for books that need to lie flat when open, like cookbooks and manuals
Saddle-stitch — (stapled and folded) good for books with a small page count

There is no additional charge for these binding options.

Book sizes

You can select one of three standard book sizes.

Size A — 5.25" x 8"
Size B — 6" x 9"
Size C — 8" x 10"

Books can be special ordered at any size from 4" x 6" to 8.5" x 11". If you need a custom size, please contact us before placing your order.

Page counts

Each book trim size has a different maximum number of pages.

Sizes A (5.25" x 8") and B (6" x 9") — up to 600 pages
Size C (8" x 10") — up to 400 pages
Plastic comb bound books — up to 425 pages

Minimum page count is 12 pages for all books.
